franx is in a nice location at the top of neal street, where it meets shaftesbury avenue. you can watch the world go by, but it's not too busy. don't imagine it's so nice sitting inside though. nothing hugely special about it, but it's nice and clean and friendly.
the tea's 70p and this cup was a little stewed. hint of that nasty aftertaste you sometimes get.
i drank it all though.
love that vernacular chalk work
Great caff but totally ruined by all the staff from Heat magazine who work across the road. All full of a sense of their own self importance and all talking loudly about which Z list celeb they met/nearly went home with/saw doing drugs (*delete as inappropriate) at a party the night before. My friends and I have had to stop going in during the week because of them. Sad, as it was such a friendly place...

The facade (at least) of Frank's has completely changed. I went out looking for a blue cafe, but now it looks much like any of the trendy restaurants that line that street. Good vibe though, and the interior is full of pictures of Amalfi. Prices are not that low though.

Jin - you're totally thinking of a different Franx. The trendy one is on Neal Street. The blue one is on Shaftesbury Ave about two minutes walk away.
