I've walked past City Snacks a lot, but this was the first time I went in. What a revelation. Lovely place.
Look at that optimistic sign, slanting excitedly towards the future.
I love how packed this place is. Packed with formica. Packed with stuff.
Split level condiment display - a cafe breakthrough
We went there a few Saturdays ago. It was all fine - the old Italian ladies shuffling about in the back re-deep-frying the pieces of bacon - but it was expensive and they don't do a set breakfast and then they overcharged us!

I was here last Saturday morning. I had to be in the Holborn area, and based on your photos, I thought it deserved a visit.
A fantastic place, a feeling of warmth, reminiscent of the much missed Presto in Old Compton St. The "Rat Pack" pictures were great, I also liked the Italian-pride theme. Let's face it, without the Italians, London would be pretty grim.
I'll definitely be here again !

I used to live around the corner on Red Lion Square and became quite a regular. Superb food & coffee, and some of the best customer service I've had in London.
