Arbutt's is a fantastic little place near the harbour in Whitby, just up a bit of a backstreet. You can tell it's a working place. It opens at six.
Very decent cup of tea. Simple. What else is there to say?
Booths. Booths are always good.
I do worry about what's going to happen to cafes when the smoking ban comes in. Personally I don't like a lot of smoke in a cafe. (A little bit's OK, adds to the atmosphere). But a lot of people are coming to a cafe to smoke. It's going to be tough.
You can tell this place has a lot of regulars. Lots of people who know each other. And there's clearly a blokes table.
And a ladies table.
A brilliant place. The folk of Whitby should be proud.
