Picklin' Paul

I've just come back from 2 weeks cycling in south germany and noticed that they are obsessed with benches. You find benches all over the countryside but, being germany, they are all perfectly located -at the top of a steep hill, shaded under a tree, facing a beautiful view.

You forget what perfect places benches are for moments of contemplation and the odd picnic. I've taken some photos for you which I'll forward once I've got them onto flickr.

yep, with you on this all the way. and london has some of the best ones: those close to the design museum are just brilliant!

Plaques are also quite brilliant all on their own. A dull street can be transformed by a small plaque that connects you to another time and world. Plaques make wandering the street of london a more interesting experience.
