I love St Ives - a seaside town that has been "selfridgerated" - all the basics are there but they've been styled and made cool. Especially Portmeor - we were there a few weeks ago and noted the Brit equivalent of the german towels on the chairs - each morning we'd see more and more people had used all their windbreaks to corral off big sections of the beach - taking much more space than they needed making latecomers sqeeze in between. That didn't used to happen when we were kids, did it?
And no one ever plays music - you get the impression that if you turned a radio on you'd be thrown off the beach. Great place for a holiday with kids though.
